In Greek Mythology, Prometheus the Titan was mankind’s benefactor, who gave the human race the gift of fire and the skill of metalwork. There are several variations of the myth, but Prometheus’ attributes of intelligence, beneficence, and bravery remain consist throughout all of them.
The Promethean Guard was organized in 1998 to serve the Leather Community in Central New Jersey and promote its lifestyle. The club logo depicts the unshackled wrist of Prometheus holding the life-giving gift of fire in his palm, signifying freedom and strength.
With minor exceptions, the Promethean Guard meets on a regular basis twice per month for both business purposes and for socials. Additionally, Promethean Guard members participate in social and philanthropic activities with other Leather organizations to promote brotherhood and foster community.
