Founded in 1989, Rangers, Inc. is the second oldest leather / levi / uniform club in Ohio.
The organization, which is chartered with the State of Ohio as a tax exempt social club (501-c-7), has raised over $75,000 during the course of its tenure for numerous charitable groups and organizations, including but not limited to the Leather Archives & Museum, NLA (National Leather Association), HIV/AIDS-related charities, the Cleveland LGBT Community Center, the Akron’s LGBT Community Center, food banks for the needy, breast cancer research, and pet rescue shelters.
As an active member of the MACC (Mid-America Conference of Clubs) conference for 25 years, the club has supported its fellow leather clubs’ events throughout the MACC region. The Rangers also supports the many leather contests held at the local, state, regional, and national levels with 14 of its members having won or currently holding leather titles.
Club History
It all started in the fall of 1988, when five friends joined together to form a club of people whose interest was in leather, levis and uniforms.
The goals were (and still are today) to promote the leather/uniform spirit, to support the needs of the larger community and the charitable organizations that help fulfil those needs, and to strengthen the leather/uniform community of Northeast Ohio.
The Rangers’ logo (club patch) has five stars, representing the five founding members.
The colors are registered with the State of Ohio as a Service Mark.
As part of the uniform scene, the Rangers were affiliated with the A.U.A. (American Uniform Association) This affiliation remained until the A.U.A became defunct. The Rangers held the Annual A.U.A. Review in 1996. This review brought people from all over the world including visitors from Germany, England, and the Netherlands.
The Rangers have participated in, and held runs as part of, the M.A.C.C. (Mid-American Conference of Clubs). Many Rangers have also traveled to other cities for their club’s runs. Some of the runs that the Rangers support include the Centurions of Columbus, Panthers of Atlanta, Gateway MC of St. Louis, Conductors of Nashville, and Pittsburgh MC of Pittsburgh. Club participation awards have been bestowed upon the Rangers by some of the aforementioned clubs.
The Rangers have established excellent working relations with other clubs of Northeast Ohio. All of the clubs continue to work to coordinate their event calendars. The purpose of this coordination is to further support each other by being able to attend each other’s events.
The members of the Rangers remain committed to their stated goals, as reflected in their current events calendar.

We have different levels of participation within the club:
Full Member: A full member is an active participant in the club’s business. Full members have voting privileges within the club’s meetings and have the ability to run for the board level positions within the club.
Associate Member: An associate member participates in the club’s events during club nights, club runs, meetings, etc, but has no voting rights within the club’s meetings.
Honorary Member: An honorary member is an award of merit and appreciation by the club. This member participates in the club’s events during club nights, club runs, meetings, etc, but has no voting rights within the clubs meetings.
